Media Legend, Wendy Williams, Is Set To Retire This Summer

Wendy Williams, a media legend known for her stint as the host of the iconic TV broadcast ‘The Wendy Williams Show’, is set for retirement this coming summer. Facing a string of personal issues that range from health problems, financial situations, and other responsibilities at the moment — Williams will be taking a break from the spotlight in order to prioritize her personal well-being among other matters that need to be settled in the meantime.

In an interview with Good Morning America last March 2022, Williams shared the personal struggles she is currently dealing with, saying, “Give me about three months. There are private things that I have to deal with, and then I’ll be ready to come back and be free and ready to do my thing.” While the status of her retirement may be unknown at the moment, the only clear thing at the moment is that Williams will be taking an indefinite period of time off from the public eye.

Recently, news of William’s bank accounts being frozen by Wells Fargo amidst claims that she was an ‘incapacitated person’ that needs guardianship over her personal savings. On her Instagram account, Williams uploaded a video in response to the allegations, she said, “Wells Fargo has no questions and answers regarding my money. This is not fair. And Lori Schiller (William’s financial adviser) and Wells Fargo has this guardianship petition about keeping me away from my money. This is not right and this is not fair.”

In addition to her financial dilemmas, Williams is also currently attending to health matters such as her battle with Graves’ Disease and substance abuse addiction. However, a source had good things to say about Williams’ current condition, saying, “She’s planting her roots back in New York and you’ll see a lot more of her. She’s very comfortable and is enjoying life again. She took some time off and now she’s ‘out with the old and in with the new.’ It’s like a rebirth.”

Let us hope that Williams is getting the help she needs to get back in track. And hopefully in the near future, the media legend can grace our TV screens again with her charisma and appeal that many fans have come to know and love about her.
