What happens when two superstars come together? They break world records. Post Malone and Swae Lee came together and released a song called Sunflower which now has over 2.4 billion views on YouTube. I don’t know about you guys, but the song is pretty fire. It’s the type of song that would get stuck on repeat in your head. So it comes as no surprise that the song made RIAA history by being the highest-certified song with 17 platinum certifications.

Post Malone’s Career

Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, is an American artist who raps, sings, writes songs, and produces music. He is popularly known for mixing different genres of music in his songs. His most famous song has to be the recently trending Sunflower with Swae Lee.

What makes Post Malone stand out is his chill aesthetic. He gives out a relaxed and calm vibe despite being covered head-to-toe in tattoos. He combines his own twist on hip-hop with the current trends in hip-hop culture to give his music an edge above other artists in the industry.

Swae Lee’s Career

Swae Lee, whose real name is Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown, is an American artist who raps, sings, and writes music. Swae Lee is one of the very few hip-hop artists who have a wide range of vocals along with an eye for genre-bending, and this helps him stand out in the industry.

Swae Lee is part of a hip-hop duo called Rae Sremmurd with his brother Slim Jxmmi. Despite this, he is more popular in the music industry as a solo artist. This is because he is able to show off his talents and range with more freedom than if he was performing in a band with others.

Breaking RIAA Records

The song Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee was recorded for the soundtrack of Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse. It is also included in Post Malone’s album Hollywood’s Bleeding. The song was even nominated for the Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. However, its biggest achievement by far has certainly got to be the 17 platinum RIAA certificates which made it the highest certified song in the RIAA.
